Writer's Refuge

Still here … and yet, not

Well, I’m still here. I’m still plugging away at, and wrestling with, my writing. Still a faith-filled mom who loves her family and whimsical things. But there have been a lot of changes since I last posted.

Shortly after D2 went off to her freshman year of college, Hubby and I sold our house (we went under contract days before we left to take D2 to college). We’ve since put everything into storage while we drive and fly around the country visiting family. I’ve also switched my author newsletters from Mailerlite over to Substack. My hope is that, in having my writing available on Substack, it’ll be easier for new people to find me, and the simpler platform will encourage me to write a little more often.

But it also means I’m not sure how often I’ll be writing new posts here in the future. I’m hoping my Substack will become a natural blend of newsletter + what you found at Scattered Whimsy (a conglomeration of my faith, writing, knitting, and crafting journeys).

If you’re interested in joining me on Substack, you can easily subscribe there without having to create an account on the platform yourself. Here’s a link to my first official post written a few weeks ago: Homeless but not Houseless. Somewhere in that post should be an option to subscribe with just your email, no account needed.

And no worries if you don’t want to subscribe over there. I have no intentions of shutting down this blog, but it might be that more often than not, I share a few lines here and then encourage you to read a fuller version on Substack.

I trust this finds you doing well and anticipating the fast-approaching holiday season. For the first time ever, I’ll be celebrating in a warm climate while visiting my parents in Florida. 😱 You can pray for me. πŸ˜‰
